In his role as senior manager of media and communications at the Sikh Coalition, the largest Sikh advocacy organization in the United States, Jagmeet leverages traditional and social media to advance human and civil rights for Sikhs. Working with his talented team, Jagmeet has pitched, facilitated and secured coverage in hundreds of news outlets across the country, including hits in the New York Times, the Associated Press, the Wall Street Journal, the Daily Show and NPR member stations.
Prior to joining the Sikh Coalition, Jagmeet worked as a visual journalist, writer and radio journalist, freelancing for NPR and CBS affiliate stations. He has reported on a variety of topics, from the brain science of fear to economic disparities in North Carolina. His documentary video work has garnered accolades from South by Southwest and The Webby Awards.
Jagmeet was raised in small-town North Carolina and earned his master’s degree from the UNC School of Media and Journalism.
